Reporters and Editors as Guides and Misguides

Last update: Friday 6/27/14 @ 7:23 am
This morning while scanning the daily online education media, I encountered an article in Diverse titled "Study Finds Taking Class Online Does not Necessarily Improve Outcomes" ... which caught my attention because of my bloody personal experience while promoting the development of online degree and certificate programs at a prominent HBCU. I found considerable irony in the negative implications of the title because the deepest wounds I received came from faculty who were convinced that online education was decidedly inferior to traditional classroom education. Had I asserted that online was actually better than traditional education, I would not have been wounded; I would have been lynched ... :-(
