The New York chapter of Black Girls CODE brought an exciting adventure to the Bronx on Saturday 11/14/15 that was all about ROBOTS!!! The young girls who participate had fun and captivating educational experiences. In an engaging atmosphere with hands-on activities using Lego WeDo/NXT kits, they learned about robots and how robots communicate. They also interacted with sophisticated robots and learned real-world/business applications and other uses for robotics. More information about this event can be found on the event's registration page.
Note that Black Girls Code also produced an exciting Robot Expo! in Atlanta, GA today ==> See the DLL's Storify of that event
Note: On Sunday 11/15/15 Black Girls Code published its official Storify of the Robot Expo! in the Bronx ==> HERE
The DLL Storify of tweets that were generated by participants, staff, and volunteers who used hashtags = #BGCRobotExpo, #BGCNYC, @VolunteerBGCNY appears at the bottom of this page. Warning: the BGC staff and volunteers took a zillion great photos, so this Storify really gives viewers a sense of what the young girls were doing while they were learning and having fun ... :-)
As usual, this DLL Storify is merely a "firehose" draft, i.e., it includes tweets in chronological order without comment or classification ... Storyfies of other #DiversityInTech events are listed in the DLL Archives.
