DLL Storify of Tech Inclusion New York Conference & Startup Showcase -- Thursday 6/30/16

Tech Inclusion NY was a two-day event presented by Google for Entrepreneurs and organized by Tech Inclusion (an initiative of Change Catalyst) that takes an ecosystem approach to improving diversity and inclusion in the tech industry. A career fair was held on Wednesday. Thursday's component was an all-day conference and start-up showcase.

Summer schedule for TECH Daily ==> no Tuesday or Saturday editions

Summertime is a slow news time for academia in general, and for HBCUs in particular. It's also a slow news time for Tech. So the DLL will reduce its schedule of daily publications until the week of August 1, 2016 by dropping its Tuesday and Saturday editions during this time frame. In other words, TECH Daily will only appear on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays ... The weekly TECH Dozens magazine will be published on Sundays, as usual ... :-)

BlackGirlsCODE (Website, Facebook) brings its exciting 1-day webmaking workshop to Los Angeles, CA at California State University, Dominguez Hills.  This workshop will teach participants how to build their own unique webpage in one day using fun games and activities that introduced HTML, CSS, and basic web structure.

DLL Storify of BGC Atlanta Visit to "Power Puff Girls" -- Thursday 6/16/16

Sponsored by the DC Chapter of BlackGirlsCode (Website, Facebook), this workshop enabled participants and their parents to explore coding fundamentals, circuits, and Makey Makeys or littleBits. These activities introduced them to the Internet of Things (IoT) -- a network of physical objects and devices that can be controlled with a series of sensors, electronics, and software used to control objects in the physical world.
