-- DLL Editor's note -- Diverse magazine has made a splendid contribution by extracting the most recent five years of graduation data from the U.S. Dept. of Education's IPEDs database and presenting it in a format on the Diverse Website that is far more user friendly than IPEDs. Pick a minority, pick a field, select an institution (or select "all" institutions), then click the "submit" button. It couldn't be easier.
Using this handy tool makes HBCUs' disproportionate contributions to STEM fields as clear as day ...as well as the relative scarcity of African Americans and other minorities in the STEM pipelines. Best of all, the tables that are dynamically generated when users submit their queries are returned on Web pages in formats that enable them to be be copied and directly pasted into Excel spreadsheets for further tabulation, graphing, conversion to pivot tables, or whatever. Three cheers for Diverse!!! ... :-)
