Last update: Saturday 5/7/16
The Idea Lab, sponsored by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, was a component of this year's Black Enterprise four-day Summit (5/4/16 to 5/7/16) in Miami. Five teams of HBCU students competed: Florida A&M University, Fort Valley State University, Bethune-Cookman University, Morgan State University, and Hampton University
The teams worked to solve real-world problems solicited from highly successful black-owned companies on the BE 100s. Each team presented its solutions to a panel of judges. Facilitated by Felecia Hatcher (Founder & CEO, Feverish Ice Cream-Ice Pops; Co-Founder, Code Fever & Miami Black Tech Week) the lab was a "blind competition", meaning: the identities of the students' HBCUs weren't revealed until the winning team was determined. More information can be found on the Saturday tab of the BE Summit's agenda page.

As usual, this DLL Storify is merely a "firehose" draft, i.e., it includes all tweets in chronological order without comment or classification ... Storyfies of other #DiversityInTech events are listed in the DLL Archives
