DLL Storify of BLUE1647 24-Hour Hackathon and Youth Tech Challenge in Brooklyn NY

Last update: Sunday 12/13/15

NY State Senator Jesse Hamilton and a number of other elected local officials formed a partnership with Chicago's BLUE1647 to organize this hackathon and youth challenge event, the first of its kind in Brooklyn, from 11 am on Saturday 12/12/15 to 11 am Sunday 12/13/15.

The purpose of the event was to expose youth to future career opportunities that are available in the field of Information Technology and Coding. More information about the event and its local sponsors can be found in these articles in Kings County Politics and The Brooklyn Reader

Below find the DLL Storify of tweets that were generated by participants who used hashtags = @SenatorHamilton, @BLUE1647, @TheBKReader, #CodeBrooklyn, and other relevant hashtags that emerged during this event.
  • Senator Hamilton has posted an album of photos of the presentations during the hackathon on Facebook ==> HERE
  • Senator Hamilton has also posted a link to a video of the hackathon ==> HERE
As usual, this DLL Storify is merely a "firehose" draft, i.e., it includes all tweets in chronological order without comment or classification ... Storyfies of other #DiversityInTech events are listed in the DLL Archives.
