The White House hosted a Demo Day, convened by its Chief Technology Officer (CTO), that showcased the wide-ranging talents of innovators and participation by some of the nation's leading venture capital firms. Unlike a private-sector Demo Day, where entrepreneurs “pitch” their ideas to funders, innovators from around the country joined President Obama to “demo” their individual success stories and show why we need to give every American the opportunity to pursue their bold, game-changing ideas. More information can be found on the program page. Note: Articles providing background information were posted prior to the event by Bloomberg, Wired, VentureBeat ... and Business Insider published a great follow-up article wherein some participants described how it felt to pitch their startups to President Obama ... Here's the link to the video of the presentations to President Obama
Below find the DLL Storify of tweets that were generated by participants who used hashtag = #WHDemoDay. As usual, this DLL Storify is merely a "firehose" draft, i.e., it includes all tweets in chronological order without comment or classification ... Storyfies of other #DiversityInTech events are listed in the DLL Archives.
